just a tip when saddle stitching first needle through and hold thread back as don showed push point and most of body of the second needle through stitch hole then pull first needle through a couple more inches if you pierced the thread it will pull the second needle back out of the stitch hole saving you having to take thread off needle.

I watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them all. I tried painting some leather last night and I do have to agree with you what you said about the paint and water. I just bought some of Angelus leather paint 1st went full strath and it buried the tooling. Then I added water about the same as you did in this video, and said to myself if I can use that much water to the paint this two ounces will paint a whole saddle! So I tried spritzing some water on the leather first then painted it and wow! it came out great all the tooling showed and the color was bright. give it a try and tell me about it, what you think.

My first stone was sold as a "Granite Chopping Board." It was quite thin, I didn't support it correctly and eventually it broke. The stone I now have is a white Marble that I purchased from a gravestone maker, locally. The stone is an off cut and about six inches thick and sixteen inches wide and twelve inches tall. It's the offcut from a cross and I could have bought both sides of offcuts for a fraction of the price that a commercial stone company were selling them for. Just a quick tip! 😁👍

I use 30 point (.03 ") chip board for permanent patterns and tooling thin leathers as well. Probably a bit more expensive ($1.12 for 11"x17 " ) but for me the estra thickness is worth it(I find it last longer and easier to trace/ cut off of). Excellent video DG as usual.

Nice tip! Thank you 🙏. I have discovered recently a carpet gripper tape the helps hold small objects in place on the stone. It has a very light tack which eliminates the need for a weight to help hold things in place while tooling.

God bless you for making this look simple to make, but you worked on this for a while in reality. It looks great! If you were sewing it by hand, would you punch the stitches with a two prong stitch tool since it's a circle, or would you just be able to use a single prong tool?
