I've seen another RUclipsr adding magnets to the sheath for extra security holding in the knife 🤩
Cool. Standard casing?
Great instructional video! Now I have to make a ranger belt. Watching you tool that belt as though you were sketching pencil on paper was impressive. Thanks Don.
Very cool and fun!
Don~you are the professor of leather
Hello don,pls i need all of this little bevelling instruments. How much would they cost me?am in Nigeria!!!!
Awesome, thanks for your expert instruction and craftsmanship!
That is gorgeous. I’m getting one for my daughter once she’s a little older.
just a tip when saddle stitching first needle through and hold thread back as don showed push point and most of body of the second needle through stitch hole then pull first needle through a couple more inches if you pierced the thread it will pull the second needle back out of the stitch hole saving you having to take thread off needle.
Why is it that not a single Scabbard has a D rings hook up or something for shoulder strap to carry the rifle on the back?
Thank you very much for this share.
Love the music! I'm imagining sitting in a Mexican restaurant ☺️
I watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them all. I tried painting some leather last night and I do have to agree with you what you said about the paint and water. I just bought some of Angelus leather paint 1st went full strath and it buried the tooling. Then I added water about the same as you did in this video, and said to myself if I can use that much water to the paint this two ounces will paint a whole saddle! So I tried spritzing some water on the leather first then painted it and wow! it came out great all the tooling showed and the color was bright. give it a try and tell me about it, what you think.
Perfekt
Coincidentally very relevant today, thank you as always for sharing.
Sharpening is an entire skill/trade in itself.
Fantastic info. Just looking around. Mechanically inclined so I want to how things work. Your videos are perfect. Thanks
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you. Very good
Beautiful work
Thank you for this! I didn’t understand what I was doing wrong, totally makes sense now!
How much do you charge for your belts? Don’t need nothing too fancy as long as it’s heavy duty.
what a breathe of fresh air . no rubbish just good honest help thanks
Thank you SO MUCH for this share. I have a couple saddles that I want to tear down & repair/rebuild, just for my own education. This was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you very much
Awesome tip. I never knew. And was getting so frustrated why my tooling looked so flat on the thinner veg tan. Thank you so much!
Woohoo Hi Don, it really nice to see you back doing tutorials. I must admit that you lost me for awile there when you went to your Monday shop updates, I was quite disappointed when your teaching videos stopped. I going to go back and watch the ones that I missed, can't wait. I like your style of instructional vids where you help us uninformed learn. Thankyou. You are good at it. This video's tips were good. Please keep at it.
I actually like the photo matting. Aaron put that out in one of his videos. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge. I have learned so much from you
My first stone was sold as a "Granite Chopping Board." It was quite thin, I didn't support it correctly and eventually it broke. The stone I now have is a white Marble that I purchased from a gravestone maker, locally. The stone is an off cut and about six inches thick and sixteen inches wide and twelve inches tall. It's the offcut from a cross and I could have bought both sides of offcuts for a fraction of the price that a commercial stone company were selling them for. Just a quick tip! 😁👍
Thank you ! this will really help on my money clip wallets .
Don, what about using Aarons double stick tape instead of water base glue?? Just a thought.
I use 30 point (.03 ") chip board for permanent patterns and tooling thin leathers as well. Probably a bit more expensive ($1.12 for 11"x17 " ) but for me the estra thickness is worth it(I find it last longer and easier to trace/ cut off of). Excellent video DG as usual.
They make those rubber cutting mats in smaller sizes for people who have a space issue. Fabric shops also carry them. Great tip.
Tooling thin leather has ALWAYS been my downfall! Can't wait to try this, see how my ham-fisted tooling may improve. Thanks, Don!
great idea!!! thanks don
Hey Don, where did you get your logo stamp from?
Great tips! I've seen the mat board used, but never the self-healing cutting mat. I tool mostly on thin leather so this is a very valuable tip! Thank you!
Nice tip! Thank you 🙏. I have discovered recently a carpet gripper tape the helps hold small objects in place on the stone. It has a very light tack which eliminates the need for a weight to help hold things in place while tooling.
Care to share the brand name?
Maybe adding a thin layer of foam or wool in between the layers would be a upgrade to your design to add some insulation to help keep the tortillas Warmer for a longer time
Thank you Don This is a great video
I was able to get signed up for your beginner floral carving class in Waco. I’m very excited
Tortilla Warmer and the perfect music it can't get better Awesome work Don
love this channel
God bless you for making this look simple to make, but you worked on this for a while in reality. It looks great! If you were sewing it by hand, would you punch the stitches with a two prong stitch tool since it's a circle, or would you just be able to use a single prong tool?
Excellent instructions! Thank you so much!!
You are amazing
Makes them tough too, no microwave....
Keep kicking @$$ Don! Loveing the content and projects!
Hijole! Great project. You could letter stamp "not microwave safe" on the back.
Why not do a class for making a Ranger Belt? I am completely enamored with those style of belt and I very much want to become better than just proficient. I've watched your video more than a few times and am learning from it but it certainly looks easier than it really is, at least for me and my limited abilities. Thank you so much for all you do.
Awesome idea ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great idea! I know what I am giving everyone for Christmas this year.
